Friedrich Wilhelm University : ウィキペディア英語版 | Friedrich Wilhelm University
Historically, there have been three universities called Friedrich Wilhelm University (German: ''Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität'') in the state of Prussia: * The first University of Berlin was named ''Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität'' from 1828 until 1949, when the new communist regime changed it to Humboldt University of Berlin (''Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin''), its current name. * The University of Bonn is still called ''Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn'' officially. Founded in 1815 by Frederick William III of Prussia, it was renamed in his honour in 1840. * The University of Wrocław was established as the ''Schlesische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Breslau'' following the Napoleonic Wars in 1811. Its name was changed after Breslau became part of Poland in 1945.
